Gurgaon: "Unaccounted cash" amounting to Rs 1.5 crore was seized from a Noida firm employee on Monday evening and two persons — who carried it in an SUV — are being interrogated by income tax (I-T) officials after police handed them over to the IT sleuths for "further investigation" following their detention in Faridabad. It was not clear what the cash was meant for. Since the duo was not able to produce any receipt related to the cash, police seized the amount and informed the I-T officials. No case has been registered yet. The two men have been identified as Kundan, a resident of Kalkaji in Delhi, and Kaushal, a resident of Sangam Vihar in Delhi. Surajkund inspector Prahlad Singh said, "We counted the cash at the police station and it was Rs 1.5 crore. The two men were handed over to I-T for further investigation about the cash. We have not registered any case."

When contacted for a comment about the cash from the company employee, a representative of Solar Print Process Pvt Ltd refused to comment.
A police officer said, "They were clear that it was the company's money and they were taking it back to the company in Noida after collecting it from a client in Gurgaon's Sector 44 on the instructions of their manager Laxmi. I-T department will further verify the legality of the cash transaction."
The inspector said at 5pm, the police team intercepted the SUV in which "unaccounted cash was being transported to Noida". "At Anangpur Chowk, our team signalled to the driver of the Brezza car to stop. The driver tried to take a turn, but our team intercepted the vehicle. There were two men in the car and three bags containing bundles of cash were also found in the vehicle," the inspector said.
The inspector added, "Kundan said that he works as a supervisor at Solar Print Process Pvt Ltd in Sector 85 of Noida and Kaushal is a driver. Kundan also said his office manager, Laxmi, sent him to Gurgaon to collect cash from Amit Sharma in Sector 44 in Gurgaon on Monday afternoon."
